 A Notary Public is an individual allowed to witness the signing of legal documents, e.g., deeds, estates, licenses, powers of attorney, affidavits, and trusts. Notaries act as unbiased witnesses when signing legal documents and are responsible for confirming the legitimacy of documents as representatives of the state.  


A Loan Signing Agent/ Notary Signing Agent (NSA) is a commissioned notary public who undergoes specialized training, and additional background checks to facilitate real estate documents. The NSA's role is to prevent fraud and ensure the validity of real estate transactions. 


Loan Signing Agents are NOT licensed attorneys and are prohibited from engaging in the practice of law.  


To obtain a notarization, you will need to bring a valid government-issued ID, the document to be notarized, and any other necessary paperwork or forms. Acceptable forms of ID are: 


  • Valid Driver's License 
  • Valid Passport 
  • Valid State ID
  • Valid Military ID 


 

  • Bring the Original Document that requires Notarization
    Please bring the original document that requires notarization. It is essential to have the complete and unaltered document ready for the process.
  • Carry Valid Identification
    Bring a valid and current government-issued identification document. Examples include a driver’s license, passport, state ID, or military ID. The identification should have an unexpired photograph and signature.
  • Ensure Signer’s Presence
    It is necessary for all signers to be present during the appointment. This is crucial for verifying their identity and witnessing their signature on the document.
  • Additional Documentation
    If there are any specific requirements or additional documents mentioned beforehand, please bring them to avoid any last-minute complications.
  • Arrange Witnesses, if Required
    Some documents may require witnesses in addition to the notary. If witnesses are necessary, please ensure they are present along with their identification.
  • Complete Forms Properly
    Fill out any necessary forms completely and accurately prior to the appointment. This will help streamline the process and minimize potential delays.
